Acts 2:22-24

Hi folks!

This Sunday we will be reading together Acts 2:22-24.

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.”   One of the most amazing aspects of this passage is the phrase: “this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God.”

From the very beginning of time God knew he would send his son to be the propitiation for the sins of his people.  Christ’s death on the cross was not an accident and it was not a “plan B” to bring salvation to the Gentiles.  Rather, at the proper time “God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons” (Gal. 4:4-5).  Looking forward to worshipping with you within the throne room of our God and King!

Blessings,

Hexon
